What's In My Hospital Bag

Here's what I have in my hospital bag. A lot of it I can't have packed till the last minute, like my blow dryer and make up, etc. So here's what I have in my bag, other than the stuff I can't pack yet.

Let's start with Lincoln's stuff.

Socks! 


Gumdrop pacifiers


Hats! The one in the middle is the one he's going to wear on the way home! 


Jeans for the ride home and sweats for the hospital!


PJ's. I'm bringing three sets just in case I have to stay at the hospital longer than I'm expecting.


I'm bringing four outfits too, for the same reason.


The polka dot one is a nursing blanket, the one in the middle was crocheted by Josh's grandma and that's going to tuck him into the car seat and the train one is going to be draped over the top of his car seat.


Three burp cloths!

Now for my stuff!

Two pairs of sweats and a pair of jeans. 

Two comfy shirts (both are Josh's) and a more form fitting one for my go-home outfit.


Lasinoh brand breast pads, U by Kotex brand panty liners, earbuds, iPod charger, two hair clips, a headband, hair bands, bobby pins, lip balm and lip gloss.


Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer and Secret brand deodorant.


Slippers and socks, both from Bath and Body Works.


A towel and nursing bra.


My birth plan and a notebook to record important stuff like Linc's birth information and the birth story!


Josh said he's going to pack his stuff when I'm in labor so I couldn't take pictures of what he's going to bring.

I tried something new with my hair. What do you think? How Far Along? 36 weeks Total Weight Gain: 23 pounds Maternity Clothes? Yep! Lincoln 7 Week Update

I just wanted to write a quick update on how my little peanut is doing! Lincoln is getting stronger every day! He held his head up for a whole two minutes a few days ago and his stepping reflex is working like crazy whenever I try to make him bear weight on his legs. I've got a little body builder baby! He's starting to become more aware of what's going on around him. I'll walk around with him and he's always trying to look at everything, especially our bookcases. He just loves it! He's starting to hold onto toys! I put his baby keys in his hand and he held onto them for dear life! He's starting to get interested in different sounds, he's even turning toward them! As you can see, he's smiling now! He'll smile a lot when you talk to him in a baby voice and when you make cooing noises at him. He's making more cooing sounds himself! Something Terrible Happened

I'm not sure exactly how to start this post, but I know it needs to be written. I don't want to forget this experience even though it feels so painful. Last week, I was a little over 4 weeks along and my prenatal vitamins came in the mail. I was diligently making a pregnancy test chart to compare the darkness of the test lines from the day before. I was feeling so much better than I did before our pregnancy loss last year (the second line was visible for a day and then the line disappeared and my cycle started soon after) since the test line was clearly visible, even from an arms length away. The day after I started my vitamins, I noticed that my nausea had basically gone away, something I was thrilled about since I hate feeling sick like that. My skin started breaking out worse than it had all week and I chalked it up to pregnancy hormones.
