Feelin' Like a Penguin

In the past week, Lincoln has been dropping further into my pelvis, making it feel like I'm trying to hold a bowling ball between my legs. Because of this, I've been rocking the pregnancy waddle (I occasionally call it "pregnancy swag") Lucky for me, Josh thinks its cute. :) I'm glad he's so supportive. In other news, last night, I was somehow able to shave my legs! For those of you who haven't been preggo, its very satisfying when you can do simple things on your own, like shaving your legs or tying your own shoes, when you're THIS pregnant. I feel so accomplished.

Week 36 Pregnancy Update

Image
I tried something new with my hair. What do you think? How Far Along? 36 weeks Total Weight Gain: 23 pounds Maternity Clothes? Yep! It's kinda sad though, Josh's shirts can hardly cover my tummy anymore! Stretch Marks? Tons! Although they're already starting to fade quite a bit. Sleep:  My sleep has been pretty good so far this week. Best Moment This Week: Going out to Costa Vida for our date night! Miss Anything? Nothing that I haven't already mentioned. Movement: Lots! He really hasn't slowed down since his peak at 28 weeks. My doc said he should slow down soon but I have a feeling he's just going to keep on kickin'. I think this might mean that I'm going to have a wild child on my hands further down the road. Food Cravings: Chili's bacon ranch quesadillas and their cookie brownie with ice cream on top. Yum yum yum! Anything Making You Queasy or Sick? Fish, eggs, and peppermint Gender: Boy Labor Signs: None yet! I think Lincoln i...

50 Things I'm Thankful For

H A P P Y   T H A N K S G I V I N G ! Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I would make a list of some of the things I'm thankful for. Texting. I always worry about Josh working and driving around on the snowy and icy roads around the Salt Lake Valley so its nice to be able to ask if he's doing okay and if he's still safe.  The internet. Its such a blessing to have access to pretty much any information you want right at home. Blankets. I've always found comfort in blankets, whether its for snuggling up to a good movie with your husband or if its to protect from all the nighttime nasties that could be lurking in the darkness after a bad dream. Roses. They just make me happy.  Vacuum cleaners. Josh and I lived for just over a year without one of our own and when you have two birds who shed feathers everywhere, its nice to have some help with the cleanup.  Shoes. I don't think I need to explain this one. Socks. What else would I use to keep my piggies ...

Week 35 Pregnancy Update

Image
How Far Along? 35 weeks (already?! WOW!) Total Weight Gain: 23 lbs. Maternity Clothes?  Yup, and loving every minute! I'm starting to boycott my maternity jeans though, since they're starting to dig in where Lincoln's head is (yes, he's already head down!) Stretch Marks? Tons! Sleep:  I've been sleeping pretty horribly this week! Lots of nightmares! Not fun at all. Best Moment This Week: Having my last doctors appointment on Monday and getting an all clear on everything! My blood pressure is good, Linc's heart rate is good, the only thing my doc was concerned about was the fact that I haven't gained any weight since my last appointment. Hopefully I can change that over the weekend! I LOVE Thanksgiving and I love eating! I just hope that there's pecan pie... yum yum yum! Miss Anything? I miss not being pregnant! I tried to put on a shirt that I wore last winter and it couldn't go past my belly button. It was a little disheartening but it just makes ...

Gettin' My Hair Cut

Image
So now that my due date is just over 5 weeks away, I'm trying to find a manageable but cute haircut. I don't want to be one of those moms that just falls apart after her baby is born!      I promised Josh I wouldn't chop my hair off when Linc gets here (even though I'm itching for a pixie or a bob again!) so I've been trying to find a picture that fits my need for big, short bangs but with long hair. Its a lot harder than I thought it would be! The trendy thing to do nowadays is to have long bangs with long hair. I've never been a huge fan of long bangs, I feel like I can never style them right. This haircut was by far my favorite I've ever had. If I ever cut my hair short again, this will be what I'm gonna do. Here's a couple examples of what I looked like with this cut. ' I absolutely loved it! But since I promised Josh I wouldn't, I can't cut it like this again, at least not for a while. Anyways, I think I might s...

Butter On Jam

Image
Today was Josh's day off and we did quite a bit of running around. We went to Best Buy to pick out a new video camera (I'm SO excited for it by the way, my mother-in-law is buying it for us for Christmas! Thank you Mary Ann!) we went to Office Depot, (both Josh and I love office supply places, we aren't sure why...) we went to Josh's favorite restaurant for our date this week, and lastly we went to Mary Ann's to help with a few small home improvement projects. To be honest with you, sometimes, Josh's days off don't really feel like days off. Usually we have a load of stuff to do so it doesn't always feel like he gets a break. But that's when I feel truly blessed.      He's really, truly, honestly the hardest worker I've ever seen. He never stops going and helping others every chance he gets. He'd do anything he had to to provide for our little family. He's so strong in the gospel and it makes me so proud to be married to a worth...

Week 34 Pregnancy Update

Image
I can't believe there's only six weeks left! How Far Along? 34 weeks Total Weight Gain:  23 lbs Maternity Clothes? Yep, although Josh's clothes are becoming more and more comfortable. (I'm wearing his shirt and basketball shorts here) :) Stretch Marks?  Tons! The stretch marks on my stomach have started going up over the top of my belly button. I think I'd be doing a lot worse with this if Josh wasn't so sweet about it. Sleep:  I've been sleeping through the night just fine lately but I've been having really bizarre dreams though... Best Moment This Week:  Finally plugging in my Fresh Balsam wallflowers from Bath and Body Works! My house is smelling more like winter and I love it! Miss Anything? I saw a picture of my stomach at 17 weeks and I had no stretch marks and I had barely any bump. Lets just say, I've been mourning my pre-pregnancy body this week. Movement: Lots! He's kicking me a ton while I'm writing this post. My d...

Six Things

There are a few things I can think of that I took for granted before I got pregnant (or up until I was 7 and a half months pregnant) Putting on my own shoes/socks. Last night, Josh had to help me put on my boots. Yup, I felt pretty helpless. Picking something up off the floor without a chorus of grunts and groans. Picking something up off the floor without having to do a full squat. Being able to sit straight up out of bed. As of now, I have to roll and hold onto the side of the bed or push against Josh to sit up in the morning. Being able to scrape the ice off of Josh's Chevy Blazer without getting winded. Also, I couldn't quite reach the middle of the windshield because my belly is so big. Being able to put on my pants comfortably.  Something else that I wasn't expecting is that I'm having a hard time fitting into Josh's t-shirts. They hardly cover my belly anymore and I thought I'd be able to wear them until I gave birth. There are a lot of other ...

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Image
Christmas has to be my favorite holiday. I know what you're all thinking, "She just likes Christmas because she gets presents." FALSE I love Christmas for pretty much every reason other than that. The trees, the lights, the colors, the ornaments, the magic. But most of all, I love the snow. For anyone who wasn't in Utah last winter, the snowfall was less than satisfactory. I think it only snowed twice and the deepest the snow ever got (in Salt Lake, anyway) was about two inches. I was ecstatic when I woke up this morning to see this: The view from my bedroom window Lyle, my green Honda Accord, was covered in about twenty minutes. There was one lonely duck out by the pool that Chloe saw and she got all sorts of riled up when she noticed her. Chloe getting upset that the duck was there. The funniest part about that was the fact that there have been ducks out there for weeks now and she didn't notice them until today. I do have a fe...
