Reminiscing

Image
So I'm going to be a bit sappy for a moment or two so PREPARE YOURSELF... On this day, one year ago, I took 3 positive pregnancy tests. THIS DAY ONE YEAR AGO WAS THE VERY DAY MY LIFE WAS CHANGED FOR GOOD I'm getting a bit teary eyed when I realize all the blessings that have happened in my life since I saw those three pink lines. Josh got a substantial raise not even two weeks after I got the positive results, allowing us to rightfully prepare for our little baby on the way. My pregnancy was 100% easier than I could have ever imagined. I never threw up, I hardly felt nauseous and my swelling was kept to a minimum. My labor was super easy since I got my epidural not even 15 minutes after my water was broken. And most of all, I was blessed with the best little boy this girl could ever ask for. With Josh's work being sufficient for us to live without me working, being able to stay home with this adorable li...

I'm So Happy

Image
Okay, so anyone who comes to visit us will know that the tan couch pictured above is the most uncomfortable couch on the face of the planet. It was in a house during a home show in Utah County a few years back and my parents bought it. Then, when they didn't need it, they passed it on to us. We've had this couch for just over a year and we have wanted to get rid of it for almost as long for being so darned uncomfortable. Lucky for us, I have a generous big sister who decided to help us out with our little problem... Thank you Madison! We love our new couch! Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

Lincoln Weeks 13, 14 &15 Update

Image
I'm just going to say, sorry sorry sorry! I've been so busy and distracted for the last three weeks. Here's Lincoln's latest update! Lincoln has been so good at grabbing things! As you can see, he's able to grab two things at once! Also, as you can see, he's starting to stuff things in his mouth. He's starting to babble a lot more. Those little oohs and aahs make me smile! I think its so cute how he's learning how to use his little voice. He's even squealing when he thinks things are funny! His giggle just gets me every time! He's starting to hate being patted! Whenever I try to bend him over to pat his back after he eats, he starts to cry and he makes himself as stiff as a board so he can't be bent in half.  He's been sleeping so well, even though we've stopped swaddling him. As long as he has his pacifier, he'll sleep for about two hours at a time for his naps during the day and he'll sleep ...

Happy Easter Plus Lincoln's Blessing

Image
Okay, I know I'm a ginormous slacker when it comes to posting lately! Here's Lincoln's latest update! Lincoln's first Easter was a blast! He looked so cute in his Easter outfit! Josh walked him over to the grass where there were a few eggs strewn about and they 'hunted' for eggs together. Talk about melt my heart! Our latest family picture! Lincoln didn't like being outside at first Lincoln with Aunt Madison Over all, Easter was a lot of fun! Also, Lincoln was blessed yesterday! Josh did a great job! He looked so cute in his blessing outfit! Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

Chopped

Image
So I know I said I was going to wait till Lincoln was 1 before I cut my hair but... ITS GONE!!! I'm SO glad I chopped it! With my long hair, to get ready for the day (that includes showering, drying and styling my hair, doing my make up and getting dressed) took about an hour and fifteen minutes. Now, however, it takes just under 30. That means I'll actually get to do my hair instead of letting it air dry and turn into the scraggly mess you see in the top photo. I don't regret it one bit.  Actually, I realized one of my pet peeves as a result of this cut, I can't stand the feeling of my hair skimming/always touching my shoulders/collar bone. It just drives me nuts. Plus, my hair is SO heavy that it's literally a weight off my shoulders to get it cut. Here's a photo showing just how much I cut: I donated 10 inches of my hair and still cut about an inch off the back at the nape of my neck after that Thanks for reading! Mackenzie P.S. ...
