Happy Easter!

Image
I just wanted to write a quick post about Easter! Lincoln had a fantastic time! He got his first Easter basket, which had a Milky Way Simply Caramel candy, Spiderman and car stickers, bubbles, a bouncy ball and two Little People cars. He was thrilled! After dinner, he went on his first Easter egg hunt! The "Minefield" of eggs Once Lincoln's bag was full, my siblings collected the rest of the eggs. As you can see, they were pretty psyched by the idea! The baby 'found' an egg too! Grandma Duckie chowing down on a salad to stay out of the candy. She's a great inspiration to me when it comes to fitness and making good decisions with food! Papa and my adorable nephew Clay! My sister and I have a habit of taking strange pictures of ourselves at events like this... Madison put some bunny ears on Clay and he was less than thrilled. The three boys! Josh was melting my heart while h...

Merry Christmas!

Image
Christmas this year has been everything we'd hoped for! Things have gone wonderfully (other than one minor setback) and I'm so pleased! So the night before Christmas Eve, I got the 24 hour stomach flu... Not much fun, but luckily, the baby was easily entertaining himself while Josh relaxed and enjoyed his holiday. Daddy and Lincoln first thing this morning We actually had to wake Lincoln up at 9 AM, which was so nice! Luckily, I felt better this morning so I was able to eat popeyed/bubble/german pancakes (whatever you prefer to call it...) just before opening presents. While Josh cleaned up breakfast, Lincoln noticed baby Jesus in the manger and tipped him out of it. Then he rubbed his bald head between his two fingers. Lincoln loved opening his gifts! His first present was a toy telephone and he couldn't put it down! We got to talk to Josh's little bro who is on his mission in Jamaica! (Photo to be added soon...) I'm loving Josh...

Ten Things I'm Thankful For

Image
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is already here! It seems like only a few weeks have  passed since I had Lincoln (HE'S ALMOST 1. SUPER WEIRD) So the fact that Thanksgiving is almost here is blowing my mind! Lets start off with a song for you to listen to while reading this post. :) Lets get started! 1) I'm thankful for chocolate! Its what I've been viciously craving all week (R.I.P. to that half gallon of Rocky Road ice cream I downed in a little over two days...) 2) Like I said last year, blankets! My mom-in-laws house has been freezing over the past two weeks due to some minor excavation work done on the foundation so I'm grateful I had something to keep my toesies warm! 3) Food! Since I can finally eat again, I'm thankful for yummy food! 4) Snow! If you remember from the last season, my favorite part of the Christmas season is the snow! We've only had two or three snow storms thus far but I'm looking forward to have blankets of white co...

Happy Easter Plus Lincoln's Blessing

Image
Okay, I know I'm a ginormous slacker when it comes to posting lately! Here's Lincoln's latest update! Lincoln's first Easter was a blast! He looked so cute in his Easter outfit! Josh walked him over to the grass where there were a few eggs strewn about and they 'hunted' for eggs together. Talk about melt my heart! Our latest family picture! Lincoln didn't like being outside at first Lincoln with Aunt Madison Over all, Easter was a lot of fun! Also, Lincoln was blessed yesterday! Josh did a great job! He looked so cute in his blessing outfit! Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

Valentines Day

Image
I'm so sorry that I didn't update my blog last week! I've been so crazy busy (or so it seems) and I couldn't find time to write! Just to warn you, this post is really random and there's a ton of pictures! I thought it was a good time for another random blog update! Here it goes. Lets start with a song that I am IN LOVE WITH to listen to while you read this post! I'm not a Taylor Swift fan by any means but this version just makes me happy :) If anyone reading this doesn't know who The Piano Guys are, they are amazing! Check out their channel on Youtube! Okay, so lets start from the top. My wonderful parent's anniversary is today! What better holiday to be married than on Valentines? They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple 26 years ago! Happy anniversary, Mom and Dad! A picture from the day they tied the knot 26 years ago :) A picture from last October's family photo shoot! Copyright goes to Laure...

Christmas Eve Update

Image
I had my week 39 appointment with my doctor this morning with a lack of news. I'm still 1 centimeter dilated and only 65% effaced. I was however given some good news. My hospital doesn't do inductions on Saturdays or Sundays so my doc said he might be able to schedule an induction date as early as next Friday morning. How cool is that? That means even if Lincoln doesn't want to come out, I'm going to be a mommy no later than the 4th of January. :) I couldn't be more ecstatic. I just wanted to wish my followers a Merry Christmas and I wanted to share a link to my ALL TIME FAVORITE Christmas song for you to enjoy. M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S ! Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

50 Things I'm Thankful For

H A P P Y   T H A N K S G I V I N G ! Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I would make a list of some of the things I'm thankful for. Texting. I always worry about Josh working and driving around on the snowy and icy roads around the Salt Lake Valley so its nice to be able to ask if he's doing okay and if he's still safe.  The internet. Its such a blessing to have access to pretty much any information you want right at home. Blankets. I've always found comfort in blankets, whether its for snuggling up to a good movie with your husband or if its to protect from all the nighttime nasties that could be lurking in the darkness after a bad dream. Roses. They just make me happy.  Vacuum cleaners. Josh and I lived for just over a year without one of our own and when you have two birds who shed feathers everywhere, its nice to have some help with the cleanup.  Shoes. I don't think I need to explain this one. Socks. What else would I use to keep my piggies ...

Happy Halloween!

Lets begin with my weekly update picture! Here's the weekly update picture with me wearing my costume; Pumpkin Smuggler! My partner in crime! For some reason, when Josh shaved his beard into a  handlebar-soul patch combo, we kept making this face at each other...  Chloe's costume! (Doesn't she look thrilled?!) \ Josh carving his pumpkin! Carving my pumpkin! It was the first time I had carved one in years! So much fun!  Josh's Jack-O-Lantern My goofy looking pumpkin Lincoln's little baby pumpkin!  Pumpkin family I just wanted to thank my brother Cameron for taking me and Josh to a local recycling plant where they had made a maze made of those blocks of recycled stuff! It was really fun! (Plus it was a little freaky considering there were guys dressed in black running around, scaring people!) H A P P Y  H A L L O W E E N ! ! !
