I Have A Confession

About fifteen minutes ago, I took the dog out and got the mail. It was overcast but I didn't think it would rain for a while longer since the clouds were hardly dark at all. I went back inside and five minutes later, I hear a big BOOM! Then it seems like the clouds are just dumping buckets of rain all of a sudden! A flash and then another BOOM!

My confession is I'm scared (almost, but not quite to death) of thunder and lightning storms. Usually Josh is here to wrap me in a blanket, make me some popcorn and turn on a show like Masterchef or Hell's Kitchen to keep my mind occupied and off the (so I feel like) impending doom that the outside world is bringing. However, he's still hard at work and I'm at home alone.

Lucky for me, I've got a dog to sit by and a book to read. Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of Twilight since the series was butchered with the movies, but I decided to give it another try since I loved reading it so much in junior high and high school. 

Something I got done today was I finished Josh's scarf that I started last November. Its been taking up space in my hall closet for SO long and I finally felt in-the-mood to finish it! (If only I would have had it done yesterday, then Josh could be wearing it during this nasty storm!) Now all I have to do is start and finish mine!

I totally feel the need to eat during storms for some weird reason so I'm letting myself indulge in some Skippy Natural peanut butter. Yum Yum! (If I'm not careful, I might eat the whole container!)

Lincoln 7 Week Update

I just wanted to write a quick update on how my little peanut is doing! Lincoln is getting stronger every day! He held his head up for a whole two minutes a few days ago and his stepping reflex is working like crazy whenever I try to make him bear weight on his legs. I've got a little body builder baby! He's starting to become more aware of what's going on around him. I'll walk around with him and he's always trying to look at everything, especially our bookcases. He just loves it! He's starting to hold onto toys! I put his baby keys in his hand and he held onto them for dear life! He's starting to get interested in different sounds, he's even turning toward them! As you can see, he's smiling now! He'll smile a lot when you talk to him in a baby voice and when you make cooing noises at him. He's making more cooing sounds himself! Something Terrible Happened

I'm not sure exactly how to start this post, but I know it needs to be written. I don't want to forget this experience even though it feels so painful. Last week, I was a little over 4 weeks along and my prenatal vitamins came in the mail. I was diligently making a pregnancy test chart to compare the darkness of the test lines from the day before. I was feeling so much better than I did before our pregnancy loss last year (the second line was visible for a day and then the line disappeared and my cycle started soon after) since the test line was clearly visible, even from an arms length away. The day after I started my vitamins, I noticed that my nausea had basically gone away, something I was thrilled about since I hate feeling sick like that. My skin started breaking out worse than it had all week and I chalked it up to pregnancy hormones.
