Week 27 Pregnancy Update

Image
I'd like to just apologize for my lack of a pregnancy post last week. I totally spaced it until Wednesday. Anyways, back to this weeks post! How Far Along? 27 weeks Weight Gain? 13 pounds Maternity Clothes? I found some super cute maternity shorts that actually go to my knees!  Stretch Marks? I've found some new ones just behind my knees. I keep thinking I've run out of places to get stretch marks but new ones keep showing up.  Best Moment This Week? I actually had two relating moments this week that I'll be illustrating in the post following this one. Movement? He has been super active this last week. I think he actually was moving nonstop for about an hour and a half yesterday, its so exciting! Food Cravings? Still chocolate peanut butter stuff, mostly Haagen-Dazs ice cream.  Anything Making You Queasy or Sick? Nothing really comes to mind. Gender? Boy Labor Signs? I'm still rockin' the Braxton Hicks. I'm really hoping that becaus...

Week 25 Pregnancy Update

Image
How Far Along? 25 weeks Weight Gain? 11 pounds Maternity Clothes? I'm still hating my maternity pants and some of my shirts are already too small.  I've definitely gotten bigger quicker this time around.  Stretch Marks? No more  have shown up this week. Sleep? My dreams have been strange this week, either stressful or confusing. Best Moment This Week? Lincoln woke up to what I assumed was a night terror tonight. I went in to calm him down by picking him up, giving him his puppy stuffed animal and wrapping him in a blanket. Once the blanket was on him, he leaned his little head down and snuggled with me for about 45 minutes straight. The last time he really snuggled with me was about four months ago so I soaked every last moment in while he laid there with his little hands wrapped around my neck. Its moments like that that make all the hard times totally worth it. Movement? The little nubs are becoming more and more distinct and Josh can feel almost...

Week 24 Pregnancy Update

Image
How Far Along? 24 weeks Weight Gain? 11 pounds Maternity Clothes? I've been hating my maternity jeans with a passion this week. Bring on the PJ pants! Stretch Marks? The ones on my tummy from last time are going purple again and I'm seeing more on my calves... Sleep? I've been having stressful dreams a lot this week. Maybe its because most of my dreams where I deliver prematurely has been when I was halfway through my 24th week. Best Moment This Week? My little Lincoln learning to give kisses! (He actually opens his mouth and licks your cheek. But hey, he's trying!) Movement? I've finally been able to feel little nubs instead of just a kick. Its getting so exciting! Its the one part of my last pregnancy I missed! Food Cravings? Chocolate (who's surprised?) and little smokies. Those little sausages have been my midnight snack all week... super healthy, I know... Anything Making You Queasy or Sick? Actually, nothing! I had both bacon and marin...

My Cloth Diaper Stash

Image
Hey guys! I've been dying to do this post for a while now, and I'm so excited to show you all my cloth diaper stash! Lets start off with the diapers and diaper shells. This is one of my bumGenius Freetime diapers. Its the first kind of diaper I ever purchased! I have 23 of these. This is the inside with the flaps closed.  This is what it looks like open. I have 23 of these, they are all in ones, which makes diapering really quick and easy.  The white diaper is a Baby Kicks brand diaper, Outfoxed print. The blue one is a Tots Bots Easy Fit diaper with an aplix closure. I only have one of each of these. The Tots Bots diaper is probably my favorite diaper I own. I plan to buy more at some point.  This is the inside of the Tots Bots. Its an all in one with a super soft minky interior. It also has the laundry tabs to keep it from catching on other stuff in the washer and dryer. I like how its just one long flap as opposed to two flaps and the...

One Year of Cloth

I can't believe its already been a whole year since I started cloth diapering! Its been a wonderful journey so far and I'm excited to continue doing it. When I first started cloth diapering, Lincoln was one month old. The diapers were pretty bulky on him and I was worried they would be uncomfortable for him to wear since he was still so skinny. As the weeks went by, however, he started filling them out better so I was feeling better about using them. There were a couple times during that first month where I kept thinking, This is too much extra work or I want to go back to disposables . Those thoughts were promptly nipped in the bud by Josh, who reminded me that we spent a lot of money of those little things and he wasn't going to let them go to waste. So I pushed through my doubts and eventually it came to a point where I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. Cloth diapering really isn't that much different, really the only difference is that you have to ...

About The Name...

I know we announced our little guys name a few weeks ago, but I can't make myself stick with it for some reason. So, I've been wrestling with the name of Noah for a few days now, and I don't think that I can really commit to it as of now. I think a big part of it is that Noah is currently the #4 name on the national popularity list. I know that some people might think its a silly reason to decide against a name that we both like but it is almost enough of a deal breaker that I'm considering nixing the name all together. Its not totally off the possibilities list but I'm not sure if we will end up using it. Since I can't seem to narrow down our options to just one name, I think that we'll just have to pick his name once he makes his way out into the world, unless I can figure things out sooner. Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

A Long Overdue Update On My Little Lincoln!

Image
I've been slacking to the worst degree with my Lincoln updates! I really need to do better at that! I do think now though, that I will be doing a monthly update instead of a weekly update. That will apply to my new little guy when he shows up! Anyways, Lincoln has had so many changes since my update three months ago! As of now, he's a pro at walking, he even tries to run sometimes! Also, he's started using his own words for things. Banana is nana, kitty is titi, doggie is doddie and he knows Josh is dada, he actually uses that word when talking about Josh. He has a few favorite foods as of late; cucumbers, tomatoes and bananas! Lincoln is so observant! If he sees you do something he doesn't understand, he'll grab your hand and have you show him. Once you give him a demonstration, he usually does really well in copying you. He definitely emulates his daddy in that aspect! I can't believe he's almost 13 mon...
