I Should Be Folding Laundry

I'm SO sorry that I didn't post last week! I got busy and completely forgot! Lincoln has been interactive these past two weeks, more-so than normal. However, at the same time, he's been a lot more fussy. I swear that he knows the difference between when I'm just bouncing him on my lap and when I'm standing up. He's started liking to be held only when I bounce him. Talk about a serious arm workout! Another thing is that he's getting a lot more curious. He loves to look at books and he absolutely loves his baby keys! He loves his giraffe rattle too, he can't stop looking at it! He's sleeping so well! Last week, he went down at 10:30 P.M. and didn't wake up till 9:30 in the morning! I love his giggles! Its SO flippin' cute. If you don't believe me, watch this: Thanks for reading! Mackenzie

I just wanted to show you guys my favorite new toy; an IBM Personal Wheelwriter! (AKA a typewriter!) I've been SO inspired with this typewriter! I'm absolutely in love with it. It works just like an old one but it has a keyboard so its more modern while still being awesome! Another modern thing about this is that you can change the spacing! SO COOL! Here's the type guide pointer: And something else I like is the fact that its not super old fashioned, it doesn't jam and the letters themselves aren't smudgy like the old typewriters! My baby is 10 weeks old already?! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE??? Lincoln loves his hands so much! He sucks on them all the time, especially when he's upset. I've been trying to get him to take a pacifier so he can use that to soothe himself since a pacifier is easier to take away than a fist or a thumb when he's older, but he's not taking it too much! Hopefully I can get him to take one soon! He's feeling a lot better since his immunizations. He was super fussy over the weekend so I'm glad he's feeling better.  Lincoln is sleeping at least 7 and a half hours a night now! He used to go to bed at midnight and wake me up at 6:00 AM (almost on the dot!) and then he'd go back down between 6:45 and 7. Now he's going to sleep at 7:30 and it makes such a difference in my sleep and energy simply having all my sleep in one go as opposed to having a few hours here, a few hours there. P.S. I really don't mind waking up early in the mo...

Okay, so one of the things Josh and I like to do (as strange as it might sound) is to bounce future baby names off each other. I'm a total name fanatic so I'm a little more adventurous when it comes to names I love. Some names I really like but I would never use for a real person or Josh vetoes them as soon as it comes out of my mouth, so I push those to the guilty pleasure list (yes, I have one) and I save them for a future novel or short story. Here's only a few names from my guilty pleasure list with reasons why I like each one. SPARROW : Yes, Sparrow. This is one of those names that I think I would use for an endearing nickname for either a parent to child or between love interests. SUNSHINE : Again, yes. Sunshine. I saw this name on one of the decorators from the earlier seasons of Cake Boss and I'm seriously considering this one for a girl in the latest novel I'm working on. I'm back for another update on how Lincoln is doing this week! (Its kind of short this week since there's not a whole lot of new information...) Lincoln is becoming more and more interactive! I love it when he makes eye contact, smiles and giggles! I'm so sad! Lincoln's hair is falling out! I hope it wont take long before it comes back. Lincoln had his two month appointment yesterday afternoon. The poor guy hated getting his shots. He even cried some tears! It was so sad! He just felt lousy all afternoon. He was fussy and simply uncomfortable. Luckily, he slept for 8 hours straight last night and he felt much, much better this morning when I got him up. Here's the latest Lincoln stats: 13 lbs. 5 oz. 24.5 inches long 90% height and weight 75% head circumference (All of these are looking good!) I can't believe that Lincoln is getting so big! It doesn't seem like its been 9 weeks since he entered this big world. I feel so blessed to ha...

I can't believe my baby is 8 weeks old already! Everything has flown by so fast, I can hardly keep up! Lincoln slept from 11 PM last night till 5:30 this morning and he went back down at 6:30. He's still sleeping and its 8:30. I was just able to eat my breakfast without any interruptions, its a nice change! Lincoln loves to be bathed, especially when I pour water all over him with a cup! the one part he doesn't really like is when I wash his back. For some reason, he doesn't like it when his back gets messed with, unless he's being patted. He also loves being covered in lotion when he's all done in the bath.  Lincoln has been smiling and giggling more this last week than he ever has before! Its made my hard work and sacrifices for him all worth it! He's starting to show more of his little personality! I'll tell you, he's nothing like me already! He's pretty quitet and not too talkative. I just wanted to write a quick update on how my little peanut is doing! Lincoln is getting stronger every day! He held his head up for a whole two minutes a few days ago and his stepping reflex is working like crazy whenever I try to make him bear weight on his legs. I've got a little body builder baby! He's starting to become more aware of what's going on around him. I'll walk around with him and he's always trying to look at everything, especially our bookcases. He just loves it! He's starting to hold onto toys! I put his baby keys in his hand and he held onto them for dear life! He's starting to get interested in different sounds, he's even turning toward them! As you can see, he's smiling now! He'll smile a lot when you talk to him in a baby voice and when you make cooing noises at him. He's making more cooing sounds himself!
